no so grouchy anymore. had a latte and the caffeine couldn’t get in my veins quick enough!
it’s not so busy at work so i have now occupied my time by fretting about silly things. i’m desparate to find out about the ferry to Phillip Island which is where we’re going for our holiday. is it going to be bumpy? i get seasick and i’m afraid of spending the first part of our romantic getaway slumped over the side of a boat. it seems that my australian colleagues have never been to phillip island (and they say americans aren’t so well-travelled) so they can’t tell me what it’s like. i went on the ferry website to the FAQ section. silly questions like “Does the ferry run in all types of weather?” or “What times does the ferry run on public holidays?” I don’t care about that. i want questions like “Will the trip make me vomit?” “I get seasick, should I worry?”
the Brit ordered my necklace from Tiffany last week. Now, the Tiffany store is actually down the street from where i work but we decided to order online since the people there annoy me. Anyway, it’s being shipped from America. what the…? sounds backwards but what do i know. so i’m tracking the thing on FedEx’s website and i see it’s awaiting clearance at australian customs. I’m scared to death about having to pay a duty on it (i’m still scarred from the time customs held my Burberry coat hostage until i forked out a small fortune in duties). I have the FedEx tracking screen open and i keep refreshing it every five minutes or so to see if they update the status to “CLEARED.” yeah yeah, i know, a watched pot doesn’t boil but i have nothing else to do. see! i just toggled oveer to that screen and hit “refresh” and nothing! surely my package is the most important one and should be dealt with straighaway! i just hit ‘refresh’ again and no change. boo. so not fair. obviously FedEx needs more keenos working for them so that they can get my necklace out this arvo. (get me…so australian).
by the way, husband thinks that “keeno” isn’t necessarily an australian word but an australian thing to do. like calling a service station a servo. i heard some dude on tram refer to Brunswick as Brunno. i will now start calling the Brit “nerdo” and i’m referring to random items as “thingo.”
